Month in Review...

It looks like I'm not doing so hot with the New Year's Resolution to update the blog more often. So here's a recap of what's been happening...

Until a few days ago, The little man's diet has consisted of formula, rice cereal, apple sauce, sweet potatoes, bananas, sweet peas, pears, and green beans. Of course, all of his food so far is mashed into a textureless slime-sludge-goo. After trying a couple times, we've learned to stay away from bananas, since they turn his poo into little bricks. Really.

We gave him his first finger food a couple days ago. We started with an unsalted saltine cracker, an idea we got from Sara. He didn't really know what to do with it, which is funny because he generally jams anything he can get his hands on into his mouth. Once it did go into his mouth, he let us know he did NOT like it at all. (Do me a favor... picture your grandma naked. I'll wait... Now that face you just made is the face he made with the saltine.)

The next night we gave him a graham cracker. This went over a little better, as he only made the naked grandma face a couple times. Here are photos of the catch and the resulting carnage...

We're not crawling yet, but we can get up on our hands and knees and rock back and forth like a drunk man trying to get the room to stop spinning. Tiff and I are excited for him to start crawling, even though we know things will change drastically once the little man gets mobile. Nothing in the house is baby-proof yet. We have no plug covers on the outlets, sharp corners are everywhere, and no Mr. Yuck stickers are on my beers. At least the cat is declawed...

The most exciting thing is that he is figuring out how to hold his bottle. I didn't realize how cool it was to be able to feed him, eat a sandwich, AND flip channels at the same time.

And finally, last weekend we headed up to Winston-Salem to visit Nathan, Sara, Seth and Amelia. For Valentines Day, we went to the Wake Forest - Florida State, played Wii, and went to bed at 9:30... It was awesome. Check out Sara's blog here for the recap.

This time I promise to update B3 more often...
